Hundreds of excited students danced, cheered and clapped in the school cafeteria and library of Brushy Creek Elementary last week, eager to find out if their school would be named one of the 2017-18 Palmetto’s Finest honorees.
Riverside High student, Cheeun Kang, won 1st place at the South Carolina Art Education Association Youth Art Month show in the High School division of the Western Region. Cheeun’s work was a batik entitled “Moment.” She will move on to the State Level competition in Columbia in April.
The Riverside High Speech and Debate Team won both the overall 2018 South Carolina State Championship and the AAAAA State Title at the South Carolina Forensic Coaches’ Association Tournament held at Greenville High recently.
Due to the recent resignation of a member of the Board of Directors, Greer Middle College Charter High will hold a special election on Tuesday, March 27, to fill one vacant seat for the remainder of a two year term, ending June 30, 2018.
College Fair planned for March 15
The NACAC College Fair will be held at Timmons Arena at Furman University March 15 from 5-8 p.m.
Admissions counselors from a number of colleges will be on hand to field questions about the applications process, testing, and other relevant topics.
Taylors student art show is March 12
Taylors Elementary will hold its 2018 Art Show on Monday, March 12.
The art show opens at 5:30 p.m. followed by a PTA meeting at 6:30 p.m.
The Groovy Dawg Hot Dog Cart will be on site from 5-7:30 p.m.
