Museum holds Native artifact program
Another season of Greer Idol is underway, and 12 area contestants are moving on to round two.
The first round of Greer Idol Season 8 and Greer Idol Teen Season 4 kicked off at the Pelham Medical Center Greer Family Festival with auditions taking place on Friday, May 2 from 6-7 p.m. and Saturday, May 3 from 1-2 p.m.

GCAC hosting dragon and princess party
Dress like a princess and be treated like royalty. Or, come as a dragon-slayer, and be hosted for bravery at Greer Cultural Arts Council’s Dragon and Princess Party May 9 and 10, 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Cannon Centre, 204 Cannon St., Greer.
Heather Horton will be hosting an Imrpov workshop at the Cannon Centre 204 Cannon Street in Greer.
The workshop costs $35 and is for ages 14 and older. The workshop will be held from 6-8:30 p.m.
The second Take Flight 5K run/walk is set for May 24 down a Greenville Downtown Airport runway. Money raised will go to playground equipment for children 5-12 years old, to the increasingly popular aviation themed community park at the Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU).

Flat Rock Playhouse presents the world’s longest running musical in the history of musicals, The Fantasticks, from April 17–May 11.
Now in its 17th year of telling the gospel story through living displays of art, the annual Living Gallery at Bob Jones University has become an Upstate Easter tradition.
Programs will be in Rodeheaver Auditorium April 17-19 at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with an additional program April 19 at 2 p.m.
Poets and literary artists will convene to celebrate National Poetry Month at Chapman Cultural Center with workshops, readings, and poetry slams on Saturday, April 26.
