Greer remains under budget

Greer is 7 percent under budget, according the October year-to-date financial report presented at the Nov. 25 Greer Council meeting.

Greer’s general fund year-to-date revenue, as of October, is $1,931,016, with a negative benchmark balance of $49,439.

Foothills Philharmonic will take donations for Cops for Tots during a Christmas concert on Dec. 13.

Philharmonic plays with a purpose

Foothills Philharmonic, an all-volunteer local orchestra, will mix Christmas carols and charitable giving next Saturday night.

The group will perform its annual Christmas Pops Concert on Dec. 13, accompanied by a toy drive for Cops for Tots.

The drive and concert will take place at the J. Harley Bonds Career Center at 7:30 p.m.

The Greer Trading Post will be open during Small Business Saturday, an event encouraging holiday shoppers to buy local.
