Community coming together

Members of the Greer community will come together to raise money for Greer Community Ministries this week, taking part in the nonprofit’s annual Big Thursday event.     

Big Thursday will take place at Fairview Baptist Church from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 2.

Take it back

The Greer Commission of Public Works (CPW) and the Greer Police Department collected 38 pounds of pills during the annual Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 28, to take unwanted prescription drugs off the streets. The drop off box at the Greer Police Department collected 120 pounds.

Changes coming for CPW patrons

Beginning in January, the Greer Commission of Public Works (CPW) will no longer relight appliance pilot lights for customers, officials announced this week.

The only exception will be if CPW causes the outage. In addition, CPW employees will no longer enter customer’s homes to work on their appliances.
