Rebels cruise past the Indians

The Rebels took a punch Friday night, and then they punched back. Hard.

On its first play from scrimmage, Gaffney notched its first and only points of the half on a 96-yard pass play.

The quick score didn’t rattle Reggie Shaw’s Rebels, as they cruised to a 34-14 victory.

Riverside came up short on the road last Friday at Mauldin.

Eagles fall to Chapman

An undefeated Eastside team ran into its toughest test of the season last Friday, falling 49-23 on the road to Chapman.
The Eagles first loss came after a closely contested first half. Eastside trailed 14-10 heading into intermission, but the Chapman offense went into high gear late, putting the game out of reach.

Marshall Skoloff threw two touchdowns and rushed for another last Thursday against Broome.

Eastside takes shootout win

The Eagles are still perfect after notching a 33-28 win over Broome last Thursday night.

Eastside managed to out-gun Broome during homecoming, as quarterback Marshall Skoloff threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns, rushing for one more during the victory.

Lawrence Scott hit Ben Henson for a touchdown during a win Thursday.

Rebels top Vikings, 26-7

Byrnes handed Spartanburg its third loss of the season last Thursday night, topping the Vikings 26-7 at Wofford College’s Gibbs Stadium.

The Rebels are now 1-0 in the region with a matchup against Gaffney on the horizon.

League extends football season

The South Carolina High School League has extended the regular season for football to add a Week 11 following Hurricane Florence.

All games (Varsity and JV) originally scheduled for Week 4 (Sept. 10-14), that have been postponed due to evacuations and/or weather may be moved to the week of Oct. 29 – Nov. 2.
